Terms of use
The house rules for the ColchesterPets app. Last updated: 29 July 2026.
What ColchesterPets is
A friendly community app for the pets of Colchester and the people who love them, run by Solve with Software Ltd (“we”). These terms are the house rules for using it.
Who can join
ColchesterPets is for adults. You must be 18 or over to hold an account, and you confirm that when you sign up. Membership is also local: we check your postcode at signup to keep ColchesterPets to people living within about 10 miles of Colchester. If we believe an account belongs to someone under 18, we may suspend or close it.
Your account
Be yourself, keep your sign-in details safe, and look after what your account does. You can sign out or delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Be kind
This is a neighbourly space. No abuse, harassment, hate, spam or commercial advertising. We can hide or remove content that breaks these rules, and suspend or close accounts that keep breaking them.
Your content
What you post stays yours. By posting you let us show it in the app and on shared post pages. Only share photos and words you have the right to share, and report anything that worries you.
Lost & found
Alerts help neighbours help each other. They are not a replacement for contacting your vet, your microchip database or the authorities.
Pawparazzi competitions
Entering a competition requires confirming you are 18 or over and accepting the competition terms shown at entry.
Supporter subscriptions
Supporting ColchesterPets is an optional auto-renewing subscription bought through your app store, which you can manage or cancel in your store account settings. The store’s own terms also apply.
The app itself
We provide the app with reasonable skill and care, but while it (and we) are growing we cannot promise it will always be available or error-free. We may update the app and these terms; significant changes will be visible here. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under UK consumer law.
Your privacy
How we look after your details is set out separately in our privacy notice.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
